1 Pet 4:12-16 “Beloved, do not think it strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened to you; but rejoice to the extent that you partake of Christ’s sufferings, that when His glory is revealed, you may also be glad with exceeding joy.
“When His glory is revealed” – this is what I want to talk about. How is His glory revealed? What does that look like exactly? We all know that there are many benefits to suffering such as; it fosters endurance, patience, strength etc. But I want to get specific and talk about how His glory is manifested when we are in a trial; namely, in dealing with other people. Our earthly marriage vows go something like this: “I promise to love, honor, and cherish you until death do us part” (or some similar version), and the wedding ceremony is concluded when the bride and groom agree to accept each other as partners with a resounding “I do.” Hopefully, believers realize that earthly marriage is a picture of our spiritual marriage. We, the believers, are the bride and Yeshua (Jesus Christ) is the groom.
Did you know that we believers, as the bride, also have wedding vows to our groom, Yeshua?
